Rules of Play
Game FormatAll games must start on time. Warm up – 3 minutes. Two periods total.
Player EligibilityAll players must be 35 years of age or older prior to the date of the tournament and must be listed on the official team roster. A player may play for only one team in the tournament. The Tournament Committee reserves the right to request proof of age.
A team found to have used an ineligible player in tournament game(s) shall have those game(s) defaulted. |
StandingsWin – 2 points Tie – 1 point Loss – 0 points
Finalists in each division will be determined by placement in the standings as a result of accumulated points during round robin play. In the event of a tie between two or more teams, after round robin play, finalists will be determined by the following:
Finals
PenaltiesA player receiving three penalties in the same game, must leave that game and another player must serve a 2 minute stop time penalty (3 minutes running time).
If a player is ejected from a game for any reason, it will be the responsibility of that player’s team to ensure the player is off the ice and in the dressing room within 90 seconds - subject to forfeiture of the game. Minor: 2 minutes stop time (3 minute running time). Major: 5 minutes stop time Misconduct: 10 minutes stop time Match Penalty: Player must leave the game and is barred from any further play in the tournament (includes fighting, butt ending, spearing, kicking, intent to injure, etc.) Another player must serve a 5 minute penalty. Co-incidental Penalties: Teams will play at full strength – penalized players cannot return to ice until a stoppage of play occurs. |
